So in the last few months my muse has been missing. I didn't want to admit it but it's true. I had shoulder surgery, my kids moved out and lots of other personal stuff going on. I'm not a fan of being negative and I could barely come up with blog posts to write that were my normal cheery self so I just didn't write much here. Honestly I hadn't been able to write a thing. No fiction, no updates on social media, nothing. It was like the well had dried up and I worried it would never fill up again.
So the new year came along and my husband had to go to London so he asked me to join him. Ahhh, the upside of empty nest! Finally!! Brutus was less than thrilled but as the youngest “child” he just had to deal. I trotted off across the pond on Virgin Atlantic and my husband treated me to an upper class seat with all the miles he's been wracking up. Probably a mistake on his part since I'm spoiled now but it was lovely.
I had an amazing trip. I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in over twenty years and we had so much fun it was like we'd never been separated. I visited with another friend who's going to school there and got an update on her life and had a lovely lunch.
Then it happened:
I found my muse. Apparently the cheeky minx has been living in London the last three months having a fine time without me! Rude! Anyway I've got her now and have made considerable headway on both the projects that were supposed to be finished already but should be done in the next week or two. Whew! Good thing I took that trip.
Happy New Year,
P.S. Here are some of the other pictures I took on my trip. I'm not the best photog but you get the idea. For some reason the Bradley Cooper one made me laugh.

Looks like a great trip. Sometimes that is all it takes to get that muse back in gear. Glad you found her.

I did have a great time. A great way to start a new year. I’m glad to be home though. Lots to do this year!

I am so jealous! A visit ‘across the pond’ is still on my bucket list. I cannot believe you did not offer to let me stow away.

Sorry!! Next time for sure! =)

So Bradley Cooper hawking Haagen Dazs in London is your muse? That’s going to make one heck-of-a strange novel. : )

I laughed out loud when I was walking by. That’s a strange ad. I think it didn’t help that I’d just seen him in curlers in American Hustle. =)
