How many of you are addicted to your favorite TV shows? I DVR everything I watch. I’m not a night person, as I have mentioned here before. I like to watch my shows when I like to watch them. Usually when I’m ironing or cooking breakfast for the hubby.
One of my favorite new shows this season was off the air for almost four months from Dec until the end of March. Whhhaaaat? Don’t they know I don’t like to wait? Rude!
I find myself involved in to the storylines and the characters. Trying to predict what will happen next. TV watching is a little different now that I’m a writer. I notice little things like inconsistencies in the characters and I can pick out a black moment easily.
Lately I have been getting very sucked in when I am watching, which probably isn’t so great for my ironing or any meal I’m preparing. Just the other day my husband was getting ready for work and I was ironing. I heard from the bathroom “Uhh honey, weren’t you getting me underwear?” I whined loudly from the bedroom “But honey, Nashville is on!” Really dork? It has a pause button.
That’s when I knew I was taking these things way too seriously. How about you? How addicted are you to your TV shows? Do you watch them when they air or do you DVR? I tweet about my silly TV addictions so if you're interested…

It’s really only Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones that are “necessary viewing” for me. I DVR things like American Pickers, Antiques Roadshow, Pawn Stars, (do you see the History major coming through). But I don’t need to watch these shows. Really, I just look for a few good movies in a week and DVR those. Mostly for my kids…we have like every Disney movie imaginable.

I’m not quite caught up with Downton. I heard negative things about Season 3 so I took a break. My son loves Pawn Stars. The only reality TV I watch is any of the Top Chefs. Love it!

I get so addicted to British Mysteries! Once I started watching Foyle’s War on Amazon Prime, I couldn’t stop. Then I watched it all again with my husband. Went through absolute torture waiting for new seasons of Inspector Lewis, because with British TV, you wait a YEAR for 3 to 4 episodes in a new season. Was salivating for every next episode of Broadchurch when it was on for 8 weeks this summer. British mystery shows are THE BOMB.

I agree! I loved Broadchurch and I’m waiting on pins and needles for Season 3 of Sherlock!!

Oh I am so with you on the short season issue. DRIVES ME CRAZY. I need the all fall and spring scenario.. then hit me a HUGE cliffhanger until you get back. I don’t need minibreaks. For me, I adore The Walking Dead and Homeland, both use this technique. I am addicted, so I guess it is working.

I guess they know how to keep us watching. Homeland is definitely on my list of shows to catch up on.
