I just got back from Las Vegas and the Romance Novel Convention. This was a new experience for me. A writer/reader convention. It wasn't all about craft and being an author. It was about the reader too. And having some fun.
There was a dj and dancing, a costume ball, cover models, magicians, belly dancers and a singer/dancer act, a wedding, an award show and it wouldn't be Vegas without Elvis. He was there I'm telling you! There was some kind of event going on every night! We were entertained for sure.
I met some fabulous authors and some pretty wonderful readers too. Lots of time to just chat with fellow authors and readers. Which almost never happens at these things. I'm always rushing to the next thing.
InD’Tale magazine put on a great awards show and I was humbled and terrified when Breathe won the Rone Young Adult Award. I haven’t been that scared in a really long time! I’m so glad that I decided to go and on top of all that I got a weekend away with my husband. Not bad. I think I’ll be going back next year!
