Balance just doesn’t come easy to me as I’ve written about here before. I’m an all or nothing kind of gal. I know I have been seriously lacking in blog posts lately. Here’s the thing. I have a deadline. I need to finish the first draft of the next book by August 31st. When is that? Oh yeah, SATURDAY! No pressure.
So all that being said blogging is not my first priority at the moment. Besides the fact that my life is pretty boring because I’m hunched over a computer for the big part of my day, all my creative energy is going into finishing the story! I will be posting a blurb of the next book soon and of course shortly after an excerpt. Just bear with me for the next little while and I’ll be back to it!
P.S. and the cover arts already done so you might get a peak at that soon as well. Want to hear when the next book is coming out? Sign up for my monthly newsletter on the right!

So, did you make it? Deadlines can be good for writing, and they can also bring out our “habits.” I tend to write well only when I’m in the right mood (deadline or not). Usually the right mood requires a good long shower, a good caffeinated drink, good food, decent music, no kids…Oh, wow, I need a lot of things. Maybe I just need a deadline again.

I didn’t make it but I’m close. I knew it was pushing it when I did it. Main Character took a left turn as I headed into the finale and now I’m busy trying to get her out of the corner she put herself in. Argh. Thankfully its a long weekend with nothing planned. I’m cutting myself a little slack. I agree with the routines. Caffeine is definitely involved. Lots of it. What are you working on now?
Okay back to the grindstone!
