I know I promised this post much sooner but besides being in a conference coma I also have been on vacation with my family. So even as late as it is here you go:
I realized the day after I got to Atlanta I really wanted to see the city. I had heard about their electric car tours and decided an overview would be the way to go. The travel agent in me always kicks in the minute I'm in a new city and I want to see as much as possible.
Richard from ATL Cruzers picked me up at the hotel. In a happy turn of fate another romance author was on the tour with me. We chatted away and ended up spending the rest of the day together. She writes Inspirational Romance for Harlequin and you can check out her FB page here at Katy Lee Books.
The tour took us all over Downtown and Midtown Atlanta. We saw the house and neighborhood where Martin Luther King Jr. grew up and many of the beautiful and historical homes and neighborhoods.
After our tour we walked to World of Coke. I enjoyed learning about the history of Coke and how they have guarded the “secret recipe” for so long. There was an area devoted just to the rumors and urban legends surrounding the making and origin of Coke and a tasting room where we got to taste the different sodas they distribute around the world.
I decided that day that I love Atlanta even with the humidity that turned my hair into a frizzball. The people are lovley, I love the history of the city and it's beautiful.
Next up, my first book signing!

Is Coke headquartered there? I’d love to tour the Coke factory (we have a Pepsi factory in Salem, OR.) because they have such a unique and colorful history. Plus, sadly, I love soda. Is the formula different for different countries?
BTW, my wife just discovered the Moroccan hair oil you talked about. Expensive stuff, but it does work.

Yes, Coke is based in Atlanta. I don’t think you can find a Pepsi there if you tried! Lol. It’s a great attraction. They had lots of different Fantas. I liked the Pineapple. There was a kiwi apple from Australia I liked a lot and a tea from Europe that was good as well. It’s definitely worth seeing. It’s right across from the aquarium but I didn’t have time for that unfortunately. And I’m telling you the Moroccan oil was amazing!
